To Grow as a Designer: Collaboration Beats Autonomy
We at Facebook have been partnering with Summit Public Schools to create a classroom experience that’s centered around students’ ambitions that takes advantage of all the technology and information accessible to a kid growing up today. The Summit Personalized Learning Platform is a free online tool that helps students set and track goals, learn content at their own pace, complete deeper learning projects and reflect on their experiences.
Privacy Checkup for Mobile
People come to Facebook to connect with friends, and we know how important it is to be in control of what you share and who you share with. We launched iOS and Android versions of Privacy Checkup — a quick, three-step settings review — in order to make sure people are sharing with the right audiences.
Payments in Messenger
In March, we rolled out an easy way to send money to friends though Messenger. A dependable and trusted payments processor for game players and advertisers since 2007, Facebook processes more than one million transactions daily on the site and also handles all the payments processed on Messenger.
In times of disaster or crisis, people turn to Facebook to check on loved ones and get updates. It is in these moments that communication is most critical both for people in the affected areas and for their friends and families anxious for news.
We wanted to provide a helpful tool that people can use when major disasters strike, so we created Safety Check – a simple and easy way to say you’re safe and check on others.
Autofill with Facebook was launched to a few retail partners to make it easier and faster for people to make a purchase in mobile apps by pre-populating payment and shipping info at checkout.
